Life at Harvard Business School and Stanford Graduate School of Business

Jeffrey’s HBS Graduation

When Jeffrey was about to start his MBA at Harvard Business School, we were both excited for the new adventure, but it was also hard to imagine what life would be like. Were there going to be parties every night? Would Jeffrey be traveling every weekend?

Two years at HBS went by very quickly, and it was a formative time for both of us: Jeffrey as the student and Carol as the “partner.” Now, the roles are reversed as Carol is currently a MBA student at the Stanford Graduate School of Business (GSB), while Jeffrey is the “significant other.”

Since starting school, we’ve gotten a lot of questions from applicants on what the experience is like at HBS and GSB, and what it’s like as a significant other. We’ve been very fortunate to have this unique experience of HBS/GSB back-to-back as student/partner, so we started this blog to share what our experiences have been like.

Our goal is to provide an inside look into life at HBS and GSB from two people who have gone through both schools as students and partners/SOs. This blog is also a way for us to document our reflections during this journey. Along the way, we hope to shed more light on the business school process, as we personally know how daunting applying and choosing a business schools can be. Seriously. We’ve done it. Twice. We want to help you see the student’s perspective of HBS and GSB and share with you a part of what makes each of them a special place.

Hope you enjoy

Carol and Jeffrey
